• Jean-Marc Engels has over 25 years experience in the international telecommunication industry.  He has experience in working with start-ups as well as with larger operators. Networks are his speciality (strategy, sourcing, modernizing, building, operating and selling netco services.

  • From 2013 he took on the role of CPO at an operator which strategy it is to move from a regional operation towards a more international footprint.

  • In 2011 and 2012 he worked as an executive interim manager for start-ups, such as ISCO Intl. and Accanto Systems that wanted to expand their footprint in the European telecom market. He was responsible for business development and, at times, the technical operations for Europe.

  • Before 2011, he worked at Ericsson were he was appointed at several executive roles in Belgium, Japan, China and other countries. He won several strategic contracts in the network equipment market and won among other the first ever managed services contract within the FT-Orange group. He was responsible for company management within complex regional structures and managing sales & technical operations. He developed and executed strategies to break into new markets, built right sized organizations, led mergers and introduced off-shoring.
